Creating inclusive content: Practice
Creating inclusive content: Principles
Interesting ideas on differentiating resources to meet differing needs.
Equitable access to digital technologies
A thought provoking module and one that reminds us that not everyone wants technology and those that have it don't all use it the same way.
Accommodating the learner's digital context
This reinforces the necessity for looking at the individual needs of students so that you can provide them with the best experience of teaching and learning.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD): Teaching Strategies
This module makes you think about use of technology and device availability. In practice I am aware of the need to not only consider accessibility but also inclusivity, as we cannot take for granted that all students have appropriate devices available to them, or want to bring them into the classroom. When planning for learning, we need to take a step back at the beginning of an academic year and identify what access students have to IT and the Internet, both in college and at home and avoid the use of technology becoming a divisive issue. We need to level-up availability and ensure we have the connectivity to ensure the technology enhances teaching and learning rather than being used for the sake of it or to 'tick a box'.
