EdTech: Protecting learner's work
Technology facilitates the creation, collection, recording and publishing of learner's work. It demonstrates a learner's skills and supports course certification. Teachers may be involved in asserting its authenticity and accuracy and can help each learner manage how and where accomplishments are shown to best effect. Managing the sharing of this data is a modern study skill.
Aim
How to address the practical issues involved in protecting learners' academic work including assessment evidence and grades.
Objective
After completing the module you will be able to: - create simple strategies to protect loss, corruption and other potential damage to stored student work - advise and guide learners and colleagues in effective ways to store and protect academic work
Digital Teaching Professional Framework
This module covers the EdTech component - B1b : Sharing teaching and learning resources with colleagues
- Share resources using links or as attachments, or on online platforms or personal or institutional websites/ blogs.
- Share one's own repositories of resources with others, managing their access and rights as appropriate.
- Identify and respect copyright restrictions to using, re-using and modifying digital resources.
- Appropriately reference sources when sharing or publishing resources subject to copyright.
- Attribute (open) licences to selfcreated resources.
- Take measures to protect sensitive data and resources (e.g. learners' grades, exams).
- Share administrative and learnerrelated data with colleagues and learners.
