EdTech: Creating content - social media
Surveys show that over half of the people on the planet use social media platforms. Social media are embedded into work and daily life so being able to use them is an essential vocational and life skill.
Aim
How social media can be used to create learning activities and content.
Objective
After completing this module, you will be able to:
- Identify ways to use social media safely and appropriately in learning activities and content
- Use social media to find and share ideas and resources
Digital Teaching Professional Framework
This module covers the EdTech component - C1a : Research and employability
- Use digital technologies (e.g. blogs, diaries, planning tools) to allow learners to plan their own learning.
- Use digital technologies to allow learners to collect evidence and record progress, e.g. audio or video recordings, photos.
- Use digital technologies (e.g. ePortfolios, learners' blogs) to allow learners to record and showcase their work.
- Use digital technologies to enable learners to reflect on and self-assess their learning process.

A good reminder of what technology and information services are available to use
I liked the fact the module was quite short - which means for other staff it can be completed in a relatively small amount of time. I would like to see HOW this can then be applied to their own teaching - which I assume moves into the next level of the framework. I am intrigued to continue.
