I like the courses provided here. But I struggle with the language used in the activities sometimes (I do have dyslexia). An example here was the use of the word "software" in this activity...the presentation file rather than the software would be clearer in my mind. The activity also presents as though you are taking the presentation apart, so I struggled to know where to place the 'presentation was placed in front of the learners in class' idea (not exact wording).
The old adage of don't re-invent the wheel! Unless the content is new to you, then you will have done it before and have resources that may or may not have worked well. In either case it can always be adapted for new learners.
It would be really handy if theses modules highlighted exactly which of the professional standards they contribute towards.
This module has made me reflect on my own static practice
I didn't really understand the instructions for the activity. Sorry if just me. Liked the video
A useful resource to start the thinking process of adapting and editing current material to make sessions more engaging with content already created
Not great
Useful!
This module has given me the incentive to review some of my PowerPoint presentations to see if I can make them more interactive and interesting for my Pre/Entry, Entry-level students.
In particular, I intend to look at the 'Typeform' website as I want to see how I can incorporate online quizzes into my presentations.
Some of the suggestions are not appropriate for my students who do not have the technical 'know-how', resources, or access to a VLE platform, however, I can look at incorporating quizzes, sound files, video links etc. into my presentations. It would also be a good idea to create an audio file of any future presentation so that those students who have visual impairments or dyslexia can access the information.
Good
a good module
Recycle and reuse resources - sound could be added
Thank you. This all makes good sense. I am still struggling with knowing which digital tools are the right tools, and how they all fit together!
useful idea on rearrangement
This was information again supporting the CPD we have had at college. It is important to adapt materials to keep up with current trends.
Not really that relevant. Common sense and previous knowledge
Interesting
The unit shows that regime should be strict with order but where reflection is present this order should be fluid
Not particularly useful - as a tutor you would not necessarily adapt all your materials in the order that is suggested
Good inforven mation gi
Good ideas however practical in a variety of settings
An interesting start to trying digital teaching. Certainly food for thought. looking forward to the next module.
Good opportunity to reflect upon resources and how they can be used differently
Given me some ideas of how to adapt from the traditional teaching style.
Some excellent examples of how to adapt and use resources.
