Very good, except there is an error in the quiz question about file/folder names. The question asks if two folders on the same device can have the same name and accepts No as the correct answer. In fact, you can have two folders on a device with the same name as long as the paths to those folders are different. Also cloud systems, such as Google Drive, will use an internal unique number to identify the file or folder as distinct and will ignore the name completely which allows for duplicate names. This may not be best practice but it is allowed.
Enjoyed picking up some new knowledge in an area I thought I knew quite well
I learned some things beyond my existing knowledge in this module.
Detailed but fast overview. The language and descriptions are suitable for E3 learners to understand but not too detailed.
was a very informative course
helpful for my planning
A very informative unit with good resources.
really enjoyed this module it clarified things that were a little cloudy (excuse the pun)
Very informative module, it enables one master stuff they took for granted when using systems
Good information
I found this so useful! It will really help with planning and delivering this unit. Thank you!
Liked it, though I do wonder for how much longer the filing cabinet analogy will be relevant. How many people still have them at home or in the workplace? Some indication of file sizes for typical content would be useful. How big is the average photo file? Video file? Half-hour Podcast? How many can you fit on a given external storage device? Scope for an infographic there, I think.
A few typos, but otherwise this was a really interesting module.
Certainly some good teaching tips, and a good refresher on other areas too.
Useful ideas on organising files
Good fun
well explained
I'd really appreciate an editor who used plain English & avoided lots of passive constructions.
Nice content !
very useful I will now improve my practice in this area
it has been an excellent journey so far.
you must read the questions
Very useful module. A lot of good information
very interesting!
A good module
Some important tips to remember.
A very useful module, especially for understanding basic cloud services.
It is possible to have two folders with the same name on a drive if they are sub folders of folders with different names. This question needs to be made more specific. eg is it possible to have two folders with the same name at the same level on a drive.
It was a useful module. I learnt a lot of information that I wasn't aware of.
Very informative
Informative and interesting
Useful for file management
I learned file type names I was uncertain of and the scenario and teaching methods are great for more insight I think PCGE courses should engage in these as technology is becoming the centre for learning.
It is essential that learners grasp file management early on their journey, to take ownership and be more aware of file size also addtional storage options.
Didn't know a lot of this. Good chapter.
Some good debunking of jargon.
Useful recap
Pretty good content but the English is poor throughout with many false plurals and obvious editing mistakes such as missing words. That's not what anybody would expect from a teacher. We are funded to exemplify and embed good English.
Flash is a memory technology, used for example in Samsung's SATA external drives. A flash drive is therefore not the same as a pen drive or a memory stick. Memory sticks and pen drives may be flash drives if they contain that particular technology. You publish disinformation in your quest to simplify.
A petabyte is approximately 1000 terabytes. This question should be rephrased.
useful understanding of terms and explanation of cloud. would have liked more learner activity suggestions please
Putting false before true in selection is counter-productive meant only to trip people up who expect true to be first in the list.
Learnt about the cloud
Excellent
helped to fill in some gaps
good module - also would have been good to look at common errors and how to avoid
Straightforward and clear.
Great information
Useful information.
The quiz on this module was interesting and the way the questions were phrased encouraged some deeper thinking
