Very interesting and taught me things I didn't think I really knew, but had some idea about.
Some useful reminders have been included. I especially like the short learning objectives which get straight to the point although I suspect that users with limited ICT understanding might like further clarification.
Excellent
Teaching exemplars are useful, solid info in the module as a whole too.
Gained insight into the device components and operating systems.
The module was really clear and well phrased with good learning activities.
Lovely easy start to the courses
It was Ok
Really useful introduction to device types and components and user issues .
I like the short videos, quizzes and also suggested activities for teaching the module.
Very good, easy to navigate and understand.
This was a clear easy to follow informative module and helped me clarify my understanding.
Course is quite dry and not very engaging. Although quiz at the end is good to reinforce learning and check understanding.
Additional Resources for further development look useful.
Good as a reminder.
Great*****
This module provides a very useful clarification of terms.
I found this really helpful, the further recorces links at the end are great and i will definatly re-visit thease in the future.
Very useful in explaining all the different types of firmware, software, hardware etc.
A great little module to start the course,
Clear and easy to follow.
set up is bad and not easy to understand
Interesting!
ok. not too difficult
Good engaging content. Learnt new technical terms. Some great practical teaching tips, however I am not sure how to create pie chart representing device memory usage. I would like to find out if anyone has an answer for this.
Great way to test understanding.
Useful
Very informative
This quiz was relatively easy to pass and the questions were clear.
An interactive quality online learning experience. Interface engaging, clear and content purposeful.
There were one or two areas where a little more direction may have been helpful in order to enable the learner to explore their own device however, the supporting resources and links to enable ongoing learning are amazing... Incredibly helpful that they are of a good quality and collected together in a place which would have otherwise taken a very long time to effectively discover and collate.
Good and informative, with good links to resources. Thank you.
`A good refresher for all the things you pick up over time and perhaps don't realise you have 'learnt' just by having your own devices.
Useful information
Really useful resource!
I had never heard of 'wetware' - good to know these things.
I like the links to extra resources
Very informative
A very educational module which provided very useful information and good resources ideas.
well explained
This was fun and well explained. It's also given me some good teaching ideas.
Well presented and useful information.
Nice content !
It was very simple.I have already known about this basic information.
I found this module was link to work
very good ideas which i will follow in my practice
I wasn't sure if the quiz will earn me a badge. I'm still not!
Didn't take the module as feel confident in this area - 88% on first attempt as misread the question. Oops!
cool
An excellent module with lots of good advice to pass on to learners.
Very useful
Very confusing. No information to show you what is missing
Some useful points provided on using devices
An excellent module that helps one to refresh prior knowledge or reinforce prior learning.
Some of the answers are not strictly correct.
Very basic. Not suitabe for a more advanced auidence.
I found this unit to be quite a good refresher activity for the basics of computing.
Great Module!
Great refresher for teachers
It was a quick and useful refresher!
Very good module to refresh memory.
A really useful module! the resource links are particularly helpful and have given me ideas on activities I can run for my students, I liked the inbuilt assessment method and the feedback that gives a positive reinforcement leading to increased confidence.
This was interesting. It was nice to see that I knew a bit more than I realised, but also had some gaps in my knowledge.
The content is good, but could be better organised. Much like the whole site.
Very confusing to navigate and find 1) where I am, 2) what to do next, 3) review my notes/learning
Colleagues agree.
ok
Relatively basic hardware and software theory
Some of the terminology is incorrect.
Informative and concise
Really useful for overall knowledge on devices
I knew a little bit more than I thought.
ok
Made me discover learner friendly features on my iPhone I never knew were there!
Ok, learned some technical jargon.
basic reminder of things you should know!
Thanks
Enjoyed this as a first module. I did actually learn something and it made me realise that there are things I need to work on.
Interesting quiz. Very basic but widespread
Some useful jargon
Content too shallow and including some misinformation in the name of simplicity. Quiz questions similar. Operating system is a category of firmware but they are not the same thing: the cloud is very definitely not the internet, although of course they are related.
I really enjoyed this first module, some was revision but most was new to me.
Reinforces some of the things that you are already familiar with and explains content that has more than one meaning so useful for beginners and advanced users.
Very informative
Simple and well presented unit.
Good content, informative videos and nice quiz at the end.
Very good once I got started
Very interesting and made me think long and hard about what I thought I already knew!
I learned a bit about checking you settings to see if automatic updates was checked on my devices.
would like some more actual guides about what looking for when looking for operating systems an settings earlier in module rather than in further resources
Very informative in an easy to read style
An excellent module providing emough introductory information on using devices and learning various computing teminology.
Clearly presented
Filled in some gaps
Although I had a general understanding of most of the content of this module I found it useful to consider each element clearly and I found I got more out of it by carrying out additional research and checking out the how to access and use the various settings on my iPhone and (Windows 10) laptop, as mostly these are things that are set to automatic and you don't often think about them.
Took longer than I thought. I skipped over some aspects and may need to revisit.
I liked this. It was clear and understandable. It also made me reflect on what I knew and what was new to me.
Great for confirming existing knowledge
It is very detailed and everything is explained clearly! The videos could be longer and give more examples.
Makes you think! I'm so used to just switching a device on I've never given consideration to the names of the different components
Good quiz at the end.
A good module, lots of information and useful links,
