EdTech: Technology, personalisation and effective learning
Technology makes meaningful personalisation a practical reality.
Assistive technology, with materials and resources designed for accessibility and inclusion provides the essential foundations to support learners with a disability or learning disadvantage.
This module looks at the ways in which research based modern instructional theories can ensure that we apply them in the best way to deliver effective learning.
Aim
This module shows you how good pedagogy is an essential component of effective learning.
Objective
After completing this module, you will be able to:
- Apply good pedagogical practice to the support of personalised learning
- Use technology to deliver effective and inclusive learning instruction
Digital Teaching Professional Framework
This module covers the EdTech component - F1 : Accessibility
- Provide equitable access to appropriate digital technologies and resources, e.g. ensuring that all learners have access to the digital technologies used.
- Select and use digital strategies which respond to the learner's digital context, e.g. contextual constraints to their technology use (e.g. availability, institutional restrictions - offender learning, work based learning), competences, expectations, attitudes, misconceptions and misuses.
- Use digital technologies and strategies, e.g. assistive technologies, designed for learners' in need of special support (e.g. learners with physical or mental constraints; learners with learning disorders).
- Consider and respond to potential accessibility issues when selecting, modifying or creating digital resources and to provide alternative or compensatory tools or approaches for learners with special needs.
- Use design principles for increasing accessibility for the resources and digital environments used in teaching.
- Continuously monitor and reflect on the suitability of the measures implemented to improve accessibility and adapt strategies accordingly.

This is a great module and I have identified ways to plan my session for my learners with neurodiverse conditions. There are some brilliant resources and extra reading in which I can extend my knowledge of cognitive learning and how visual ideas can enhance learning.
Found this very interesting - I have not studied Rosenshines theory previously and found the concept very interesting and easy to integrate int training sessions.
Good module with a great range of resources shown.
Useful reminder of theories and links to relevant technology
I found the Cognitive Load Theory information and resources really useful.
Just alright. We are doing the majority of the suggestions in every practical workshop session.
Brilliant animation to explain the link in resource design and diversity inclusion.
Duel coding is important for giving options and supporting students in different ways of learning.
good course
i LIKED THIS MODEL
Excellent
The video had a great example of how classroom resources can be dual coded.
The additional links are quite helpful. I’m inspired to explore Canva to create infographics and look at Prezzi to make engaging presentations.
Personalisation and learning relates to differentiation which is part of the role of teachers.
Interesting
Informative
Informative.
This was interesting and although technology and its use in prisons is reducing it is still possible to use multiple ways of explaining and supporting
An interesting helpful module to provide inclusive learning in the classroom.
Good old school Ed Tech
I found this module interesting and the resources useful.
Carousel activities following principles of Isabella Wallace
simple interactive piece shows good practice
Shows what steps can be taken to introduce Independent learning
Good 10 step plan
This stuff is boring and is trying to install a doctrine and is yet another prescriptive
Another great little app. I found this really helpful, got me thinking.
The link at the bottom (Cognitive Load Theory and what it means for classroom...) no longer works; gets to a 404 page on their website.
Nice, quick reflection on how to use tech to better support learning
Good quick recap of the principles
very good tool to meet the needs of the individual
Excellent!!!!
I like and will try and shape my teaching of Maths using the Rosenshine principles. It's clear cut and research based, could encourage close to practice research in our very own settings and further development and attainment of better prospects for our very diverse learners' needs.
Good introduction to how technological tools can be used to personalize learning to meet individual needs.
Gives food for thought for inclusion
Useful and explains how and methods to ensure inclusion in teaching
it has given me new ideas and resources for putting this into practise.
I am glas the example is pf a practical lesson as it relates to my industry
Good
Some good pointers
What now????
Provided a review and reminder of Rosenshines Principles of instruction and implementing in the session
Good use of underpinning theory from Rosenshine in a practical kitchen scenario.
