EdTech: Digital tools for summative assessment
Computer-based tests and digital media are widely used in formative assessment.
This module looks at their use for enhancing low stakes summative assessment activities, where the goal is to test and confirm that a learner has completed a block of work, and for programmes such as NVQ, where they can contribute to the body of evidence submitted for verification.

It demonstrates a tighter approach to originality and validity of learners work.
Good Module to show how digital technology can support assessment
So helpful
Very simple but clear - a good basic introduction.
Good
good to look at all forms of summative assessment and how they are recorded.
Example offered too limited in it's application to a wider audience
Very interesting and I will see if I can start to use any of these methods.
When you think you know it all and you don't
Logical and well presented with good examples given
tests can be done on computer which provides evidence of learning
Food for thought for different opportunities to use digital tools for summative assessment.
Ideal for some assessments but not for others as it depends on the subject area it is being used in.
Disagree with some of the answers - as usual!
Not a very helpful module.
I would like to be signposted to more summative assessment tools.
Some useful ideas to consider in my practice particularly around how to ensure authenticity of work
Good module....until a link to an IQ Test that it doesn't tell you that you have to pay for at the end....Oh, i failed it then?!
This unit was helpful to understand the different ways digital technology can help the learner to demonstrate recall of knowledge, authorship using the various available apps, and how this type of technology can be cost and time effective.
Clear and convincing--makes a strong case for digital summative (and formative) assessment across subjects.
