Digital tools for summative assessment

Computer-based tests and digital media are widely used in formative assessment.

This module looks at their use for enhancing low stakes summative assessment activities, where the goal is to test and confirm that a learner has completed a block of work, and for programmes such as NVQ, where they can contribute to the body of evidence submitted for verification.

This module introduces the use of digital tools for summative assessment.

After completing this module, you will be able to:

• identify opportunities to enhance your professional practice by using digital tools to set and deliver summative assessments
• experiment with alternative summative assessment activities
• construct a strategy for successful summative assessment using digital tools.

This unit was helpful to understand the different ways digital technology can help the learner to demonstrate recall of knowledge, authorship using the various available apps, and how this type of technology can be cost and time effective.  Report this review
