EdTech: Using learner information
This module examines how we currently use the data available to us, how we might find ways to develop it further to improve teaching and learning and what the emerging field of learning analytics might contribute.
Aim
This module aims to help you use learner information to improve learner experience and outcomes.
Objective
After completing this module, you will be able to:
- Explain Learning Analytics and assess what it might contribute to more effective teaching and learning
- Examine your current use of data and how you apply it to the improvement of learner outcomes
- Lead discussion amongst your colleagues on better analysis and use of data to enhance teaching practice
Digital Teaching Professional Framework
This module covers the EdTech component - E1a : Assessment and feedback strategies
- Use digital assessment tools to monitor the learning process and obtain information on learners' progress.
- Use digital technologies to enhance formative assessment strategies, e.g. using classroom response systems, quizzes, games.
- Use digital technologies to enhance formative and summative assessment in tests, e.g. through computer-based tests, implementing audio or video (e.g. in language learning), using simulations or subject-specific digital technologies as test environments.
- Use digital technologies to scaffold learners' assignments and their assessment, e.g. through ePortfolios.
- Use a variety of digital and non-digital assessment formats and be aware of their benefits and drawbacks.
- Critically reflect on the appropriateness of digital assessment approaches and adapt strategies accordingly.

Know your numbers....stats can be your friend!
This was harder as I could not work out the multiple choices - but I really enjoyed reading the research, as some one who plans a lot. This was interesting on a pedagogic level for me as I really do like to have a humanist approach to nurturing the students, analytically thinking about what they write or say and finding a good foothold in what they understand is a big part of finding the right scaffold to build their next step on for me I want them to want to learn more and feel they know how to do the next step alone or at least without me a bit more each time. All about IEP's are very useful for this and updating them is very informative to all the involved mentors as well as the students own self esteem over time.
Good
The question at the end is not that clear
Good subject
