I feel that this can confirmed my own understanding and knowledge on how to have structure and resources in place to help support the learner in their qualification. Not being able to use live IT resources within the classroom (no WiFi) it is even more important to complete the research and resources for the learner so they are not disadvantaged by this factor. By having completed a variety of different learning aids and materials this will cover learners preferred way of learning (visual, audio or practically) and by me asking questions to check learner knowledge as they complete a practical task is a great way of building confidence and as time goes by, stepping back slightly and allowing them to complete the task by themselves and recalling knowledge previously learnt.
Completing 3-weekly reviews and ILP (Individual Learning Plan) and setting SMART targets this will allows learners to feel like they are progressing within the course and this in turn builds self confidence and esteem. I would allow more time to complete these reviews (currently 10-15 minutes) and this often overruns, especially if the learner needs support in reading and writing skills. In future, I would like to allocate 20-30 minutes per learner to ensure they all have 1:2:1 support where it is needed.
