Give a brief description of your work context and responsibilities, e.g. your teaching background, experience, type of organisation (e.g. FE college, ACL), subject/curriculum you teach/lead, your learners (skills level, any particular inclusion needs, age range of group, size of group)

Teaching A levels in a large sixth form college - lots of experience in trying to engage students in active learning but struggling to bring out the best in dyslexic learners. Class sizes around 20-24. PC and data projector in classroom.

How will you adapt activities in your teaching context to put into practice learning from the module?

I often use digital content in the class which is also available on the learning platform. This includes documents in Word format, PDFs and web pages. I want as many students as possible to use assistive technology tools , just because it would improve their productivity and output. If other learners are happily using assistive technologies, my dyslexic learners are much more likely to use them... more
