I am an NQT from Birmingham city university where I have just finished my placement at a local college teaching L3 dance and A-level I think one of the most important barriers in my context is that learners aren't confident/competent in their digital usage for learning and tech is limited in some ways. How did you use the learning from this module in your teaching context?

Some things to consider and implement into my teaching were to; add audio or narration to a presentation I have created, ask learners to share and discuss their own ideas for technology in the learning context they are in and to spot a problem and act on that there and then. What worked well?

One thing that particularly worked well is when I assessed my learners in term 2 for their digital capability and ability to work independently and in a group is when I used a flipped classroom situation and asked them to learn a piece of choreography from a YouTube video on their own device. What would you do differently next time?

Next time in that particular situation I would guide learners on my screen first to show where YouTube was and how to search for the video rather than letting them go away and figure it out. This would give those with less confidence an idea on what to do next time.
