Give a brief description of your work context and responsibilities, e.g. your teaching background, experience, type of organisation (e.g. FE college, ACL), subject/curriculum you teach/lead, your learners (skills level, any particular inclusion needs, age range of group, size of group)

I have been teaching for 14 years. I started in commercial learners in the Fitness industry, moved into Apprenticeships in the same field and then widened my delivery and moved into other apprenticeships such as customer service, team leader and management alongside the active leisure provision. In April 2021 I started working for Step2Skills as an Adult learning teacher - Digital co-ordinator.... more

How did you use the learning from this module in your teaching context?

I ensure my learning materials are varied and cover different preferences and methods over the curriculum, however this has made me more aware that I don't have different options or preferences of each one. I have changed some of my learning resources and activities as a start to see if this was required and beneficial. The result of this was that I didn't need to recap this activity... more

What worked well?

This gave me as a teacher more time to facilitate the activity, and not have to spend time with a small amount of learners giving 1:1 support.

What would you do differently next time?

I will move my resources onto a different format to have a better audio description as there were some flaws in the process I used and I feel this was not as clear and effective as it could be.
