I have been teaching for 14 years. I started in commercial learners in the Fitness industry, moved into Apprenticeships in the same field and then widened my delivery and moved into other apprenticeships such as customer service, team leader and management alongside the active leisure provision. How did you use the learning from this module in your teaching context?

There are 2 examples here as they fit in together as I used the reflection from one to have an impact on another. Following a class I taught remotely, the online assessment Kahoot I used did not work too well for the group of ESOL learners. I asked the learners for feedback and reflected on the reasons why this happened. One was the speed and pressure of the online assessment causing overload... more

What worked well?

The learners all completely the online assessment and gained the results I was expecting from each individual. The increased time definitely helped as it allowed the question to be fully understood. By teaching and the learner's learning just 2 platforms meant they fully understood how to use each one and I am confident when we use these again I will not need to give an explanation of what... more

What would you do differently next time?

Keep online assessment and / or platforms to 2 different ones until the learners are fully confident with using them. Complete a stronger initial assessment at the first class on digital and language skills so I can amend appropriately
