Reflection on Accommodating the learner's digital content.

I work in the Learning Technologies and Library Services team in an FE college. Part of my role involves supervising online learning lessons for a variety of subjects. I also help to create and deliver digital skills lessons for all our level 2 and 3 16-18 year old learners

How did you use the learning from this module in your teaching context?

I haven't been able to do this yet as College is currently closed due to Covid - 19. All of our level 2 and 3 learners do a Digital Skills course in their first year. This starts at the same place for everybody but obviously this is too advanced for some and too easy for others. Maybe the learners could do a self reflective digital skills audit to start with and then choose their starting... more

What worked well?

It's hard to answer this, as I haven't yet done it but I can say what has worked well in our Digital Academy so far - the learners have enjoyed some tasks more than others - making a quiz was popular, making a spreadsheet less so.

What would you do differently next time?

One thing I think we could do next time is to somehow (I'm not quite sure how yet), show the learners how to use the accessibility functions on the chromebooks at the beginning of the year and encourage them all to try different features to see which ones they find useful.
