Give a brief description of your work context and responsibilities, e.g. your teaching background, experience, type of organisation (e.g. FE college, ACL), subject/curriculum you teach/lead, your learners (skills level, any particular inclusion needs, age range of group, size of group)

Learners attending 2 of my Level 1/2 Functional Skills English classes come with an ESOL background, but have achieved a good command of language and now are ready to progress onto higher education or career opportunities accessible only with those having at least a lower GCSEs equivalent level of English.

How did you use the learning from this module in your teaching context?

I organised my teaching around the tools offered by Google classroom and Meet Link to create interactive lessons, check learning and create a stimulating learning environment.
I use Slides each session and add them as material in the classwork so that learners can access remotely asynchronously.
When we meet for our online sessions I use the chat to ask for feedback and check... more

What worked well?

Jamboard worked the best, learners at Level 1 or 2 engage really well, feel safe to make contributions and are open and creative.

What would you do differently next time?

I wish I knew Jamboard can only hold 20 pages before deciding to use only one Jamboard for all my sessions with a group.
