Improving my digital teaching skills

I work for ACL as an ESOL teacher. I teach 4 classes a week online. Each class is appx. two- two and a half hours long and we cover skills in reading, writing and speaking and listening. I have a beginners, an intermediate, an advanced and a mixed class. Each class is a mix of ages and ethnicities.

How did you use the learning from this module in your teaching context?

I have been teaching my lessons online using Big Blue Button through the VLE. I recently started a new class and decided to try using TEAMS as I have heard it is just a better platform allowing for more variety in how I present my lessons and how creative I can be. What worked well?

Overall it was a great experience. My class was a lot more interactive than previously which is exactly what I wanted to achieve. Learners were engaged and we all had record of learning that had taken place.

What would you do differently next time?

My plan is to become 100% confident in all aspects of Power Point and the possibilities available using it through an online platform. I can then push my creativity in presenting lessons to the limits.
