It is estimated that 11.3 million people (21%) in the UK lack basic digital skills and 4.3 million (8%) of adults in the UK have no basic digital skills at all.

To tackle this skills gap, the Department for Education (DfE) has introduced a new fully-funded legal entitlement to digital skills qualifications for all adults with no or low digital skills. New Essential Digital Skills Qualifications (EDSQs) have been developed by Awarding Organisations based on the national standards for essential digital skills introduced in April 2019. These are very different to previous basic ICT skills qualifications.

At this online webinar you will hear from various Awarding Organisations on the approved Ofqual list about the EDSQs they have developed so that you can compare them. Participating Awarding Organisations so far include:

  • Ascentis
  • BCS
  • Gateway
  • NCFE
  • OCN London
  • Pearson
  • The Learning Machine (TLM Qualifications)

This webinar is aimed at managers who are preparing to deliver fully-funded EDSQs for the digital entitlement. It will be of benefit to those with responsibility for curriculum design and assessment. For example:

  • Learning & Teaching/Curriculum/Quality/Improvement managers
  • CPD leads
  • Functional Skills leads
  • Advanced practitioners
